hú (lake)

A lake is quite ancient or gǔ
(see the gu mnemonic) and hú rhymes with gǔ

It's full of water, so we'll add shuǐ
(the water radical) on the left.

And for balance we'll add yuè
(the moon radical) on the right because we like to see a lake under moonlight.
